So You Started a New Business

(Now Be Here a Year from Now!)

So, you decided to become a Beachbody Coach. AWESOME and congrats! Being your own boss is one of the most outstanding things you can do for your future.

Now, what’s next?

The first thing you should do is to make this simple commitment to yourself and your business—BE HERE A YEAR FROM NOW!

I have seen A LOT of people start their own businesses. Sadly, most fail. They don’t fail because it is too difficult. Typically, they fail because they quit before their business has a chance to gain some traction.

Odds are that you currently do not have the skills you need to be as successful a coach as you’d like to be. I sure didn’t. I was trained as a lawyer, not an entrepreneur or a health and fitness coach.

I had to retrain my mind to accept that the success or failure of my business was entirely up to me. I had to learn how to market products and myself. I had to learn sales. I had to learn social media—I didn’t even have a Facebook account in 2008 when I started my business!

In short, I was completely unprepared—except for one thing: COMMITMENT.

I knew my business would take more than a year to grow, so when I made $26.48 a week in the beginning I didn’t worry about it. I stayed committed.

A year later I made $449.74 in a week. Still not where I wanted to be. Did I quit? Nope. I kept going—and going and going. (You can watch the progression of my weekly checks here:

Here is my point—if you want to be your own boss, you have to give it time. If you’re a new coach, commit to giving it at least one year. Do not even let the option of quitting enter your mind during that year. Go all in to win.
